A horrible person
As far as this story goes, I started off with a seed, a single thought. I have been struggling with the story for quite a while now, and this was my best(!) draft. The thought is precious, though. If anyone reading this thinks they can express the thought better as a story, you are welcome to do so!

lol, yes, he is indeed a selfish person. Then again, he just voiced it and was quick to do so acc to your story

This is a stroke of brilliance Suchi. And i mean the thought most certainly. I agree with the thought, the loss of a person or anything always beings self pity. It almost always makes you think “what am i going to do” .When i read this, i could only see the thought and not how it was conveyed. Si i guess you did a really good job

I have this question in my mind – “Do we fall in love someone for what they are or for the secure feeling that being loved gives” – Its hard to believe there is not a selfish element in relationships… n the story kinda spells that… The person is certainly not horrible… he is just being honest, I guess

I guess answers are personal for this one, but I believe that love, like all other emotions is selfish..if you are comfortable and secure, you feel loved, and you attribute that to the person. So bonhomie all around. People trust each other as a result; you build relationships and families on such a platform. So I would say, good it’s that way.
He thinks he’s being horrible because that’s what we are conditioned to believe.
